Biographical
A Fellow and Board Member of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr Jentes is widely recognized for his extensive experience as arbitrator and mediator of challenging domestic and international matters.
Who's Who Legal, the official research partner of the International Bar Association and the ABA Section of International Law, reports in its most recent Illinois edition that Mr. Jentes is "praised for work on both domestic and international disputes" and is "one of the most eminent figures in the state". Mr. Jentes is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the categories of ADR and International Arbitration, his 25th appearance in the publication. He similarly repeats in the Leading Lawyers Network in the categories of ADR Law: International and Commercial Litigation.
For close to forty years, Mr. Jentes was a principal litigating partner at Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, acting as lead trial and appellate counsel in many of the firm's most significant business, commercial, competition and corporate cases. He left the firm at the beginning of 2004 to establish an independent practice as an arbitrator and mediator of significant disputes, both here and abroad.
Mr. Jentes has served as chair, sole arbitrator or panel member of over 60 AAA, ICDR, CPR, ICC, JAMS, FINRA and ad hoc arbitrations, and has successfully mediated a similarly wide range of commercial disputes. His ADR work has been spread across the U.S. and internationally, with the parties coming from 15 countries. Mr. Jentes was recently named Best Lawyers' "International Arbitration-Commercial Lawyer of the Year" and he is listed in the International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration.

Mr. Jentes long taught the advanced seminar on Complex Litigation, including ADR, at the University of Chicago and University of Michigan Law Schools, and has regularly been a speaker and panelist at ADR educational programs for bar and business groups.

Rates Information
Mr. Jentes charges $500 per hour for all study, conference, arbitration and mediation time, plus reasonable expenses. He also charges half the time he has reserved where an arbitration is cancelled less than 21 days prior to the scheduled hearing.
